Super Hero Camp a Huge Success

April 25, 2011

During April recess, 60 or more students from four area schools participated in Super Hero camp. The 1st through 6th graders spent the week working on essay writing techniques, word recognition, story development, fractions,  times tables and much more. The ELA and Math focus was enhanced with the Super Hero theme, which allowed the students to get pretty creative.

The tutors and students worked very hard, and had a really nice time in the process. The camp ended with an activity day with students decorating Super Hero shields, and putting the final touches on their stories. Even the 1st graders got creative, and were able to invent, and name a Super Hero for every letter of the alphabet!

Great job students!

Special thanks to the tutors for your commitment and enthusiasm. A good time was had by all, and we witnessed once again, that learning can indeed be fun.
